Billy Talent lieferten am 26. Juni 2026 in Grenchen eine schweißtreibende Jubiläumsshow ab. Im Rahmen des Summerside Festivals zelebrierten die Kanadier vor annähernd 20.000 Fans das 20-jährige Bestehen ihres Erfolgsalbums Billy Talent II.

Pünktlich um 23:30 Uhr stürmte das Quartett die Main Stage und feuerte ohne Vorwarnung das brachiale „Devil in a Midnight Mass“ als Opener ins Publikum. Sofort öffneten sich die ersten Moshpits, die sich beim direkt folgenden „Red Flag“ zu einem gigantischen Publikumsmeer ausweiteten. Frontmann Benjamin Kowalewicz peitschte die Menge weiter an, als Ian D’Sa das unverkennbare Riff zu „This Suffering“ anstimmte.Nach diesem furiosen Einstieg schaltete die Band mit dem melodischen „Worker Bees“ und dem emotionalen „Pins and Needles“ keinen Gang zurück, sondern bewies ihre absolute Live-Präzision.

Die Stimmung erreichte einen ersten emotionalen Höhepunkt, als das gesamte Festivalgelände den Refrain von „Surrender“ mitsang. Mit „The Suffering“ und dem treibenden „Cover Turn“ bewiesen die Kanadier danach eindrücklich, wie zeitlos das Songwriting dieses Albums auch nach zwei Jahrzehnten ist.Für eine kurze Verschnaufpause sorgte die Power-Ballade „Sympathy“, bevor das reguläre Set mit dem frenetisch gefeierten Über-Hit „Fallen Leaves“ und dem wütenden „Where Is the Line?“ ein erstes Mal fulminant endete. Nach einer kurzen Pause kehrte die Band für den Zugabenblock auf die Bühne zurück. Mit dem hymnischen „Rusted From the Rain“ aus späteren Schaffensphasen und dem unsterblichen Klassiker „Try Honesty“ entlassen sie die Fans endgültig erschöpft, aber glücklich in die Schweizer Sommernacht.

Fazit: Mega Setliste – inkl. dem kompletten Album Billy Talent 2 im ersten Set. Aus unserer Sicht eine Show mit viel Power und durchweg geil !

Right on time at 11:30 p.m., the quartet stormed the Main Stage and, without warning, blasted the brutal “Devil in a Midnight Mass” at the crowd as the opener. Immediately, the first mosh pits opened up, expanding into a gigantic sea of fans during the follow-up track, “Red Flag.” Frontman Benjamin Kowalewicz continued to whip the crowd into a frenzy as Ian D’Sa struck up the unmistakable riff to “This Suffering.” After this explosive start, the band didn’t slow down with the melodic “Worker Bees” and the emotional “Pins and Needles,” but instead demonstrated their absolute live precision.
