Fangen wir mal ein wenig anders an. Jeder sollte mittlerweile wissen, das „Kommandante Stagesound“ ein Fable für skandinavischen Rock und Metal hat. Danke Summerside Festival, dass Ihr mir auch diesen Slot – mal wieder aus meinem geliebten Schweden – gegeben habt. Ich feiere es !
Donnerstag – 25.06.2026
Pünktlich um 19:30 Uhr fing sie an, die nordische Feuerwalze und bereits einige Zeit vorher füllte sich der Platz vor der Hauptbühne merklich.
Das achtköpfige Team erschien in voller Wikingermontur auf der Bühne. Ausgestattet mit Lederrüstung, Äxten, Schilden… ging es durch das imposante Intro.
Was dann folgte war schlichtweg ohne Worte. Ich versuche es trotzdem im Ansatz zu beschreiben….
Die Truppe legte eine geile Mischung aus 3 Gesangsstimmen vor und bezog ab dem ersten Ton das Publikum voll mit ein. Absolut ersichtlich, dass nicht nur das Publikum Spass hatte.
.- Ylva Eriksson thronte mit ihrer glasklaren, elfenhaften und dennoch unfassbar kraftvollen Stimme über den epischen Melodiebögen.
.- Joakim Lindbäck Eriksson lieferte das raue, aggressive Gegengewicht und peitschte die Menge unaufhörlich an.
.- Mats Nilsson fungierte als der geborene Storyteller, der die Songs mit einer genialen Mischung aus heroischem Pathos und einer gehörigen Portion skandinavischem Humor ankündigte.
Songs wie Yggdrasil, Powersnake , Chain Breaker wurden mit voller Wucht herunter geschmettert.
Höhepunkt war dann wohl, dass die Band es schaffte, dass sich hunderte Menschen aus dem Publikum auf die noch trockene Wiese setzten um eine Wikingermannschaft zu bilden und gemeinsam gegen den Sturm zu rudern.
Fazit: Eine stimmgewaltige – nicht immer ganz ernst zu nehmende, aber dennoch sehr imposante und geile Show. Die Mischung aus 3 Gesangsstimmen und 3 Gitarren schreit definitiv nach mehr.

Let’s start things off a little differently. By now, everyone should know that “Kommandante Stagesound” has a soft spot for Scandinavian rock and metal. Thanks, Summerside Festival, for giving me this slot—once again from my beloved Sweden. I’m loving it!

Right on time at 7:30 p.m., the Nordic firestorm kicked off, and the area in front of the main stage had already started to fill up noticeably some time before.
The eight-member band took the stage in full Viking regalia. Clad in leather armor, wielding axes and shields… they launched into the imposing intro.
What followed was simply beyond words. I’ll try to describe it anyway, at least in part….
The band delivered an awesome mix of three vocal styles and fully engaged the audience from the very first note. It was absolutely clear that it wasn’t just the audience having fun.
.- Ylva Eriksson soared above the epic melodies with her crystal-clear, elfin, yet incredibly powerful voice.
.- Joakim Lindbäck Eriksson provided the raw, aggressive counterpoint and relentlessly whipped the crowd into a frenzy.
.- Mats Nilsson served as the natural-born storyteller, introducing the songs with a brilliant blend of heroic pathos and a healthy dose of Scandinavian humor.
Songs like “Yggdrasil,” “Powersnake,” and “Chain Breaker” were belted out with full force.
The highlight was probably when the band managed to get hundreds of people from the audience to sit down on the still-dry meadow to form a Viking crew and row together against the storm.
Bottom line: A vocally powerful—not always to be taken entirely seriously, but nonetheless very impressive and awesome—show. The mix of three vocalists and three guitars definitely leaves you wanting more.
